Day Off

Today my day is completely free!

I have a day off with no obligations! YAY!!! 

Of course I made a few plans to enjoy it (:

Today is going to be a pampering day for me, to kick off my anniversary weekend the right way!

First, I'm going to straighten my hair while watching Netflix (MY FAIR WEDDING! MY FAIR WEDDING!)

Then I'm picking Kala up and we're going to get our nails done

And then we're picking Allie up and we're going to officially hit up the Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta!

And I'm super have a plan woman, so of course I've already picked out the stores we're definitely going to have to go to, plus whatever they wanna go in.

We're going to start in the upper right, because that's where I parked when I worked at the Chick-fil-A there, and it's closest to Kate Spade! Of course, Kate Spade is stop number one for me! White House Black Market and J. Crew are next for me. Maybe a stop at Steve Madden too, depends on them. I have a feeling Allie will want to stop at Michael Kors.

Tommy Hilfiger is another definite stop for me, then Puma at the end of that aisle. We will then walk all the way down to Charlotte Russe and Adidas (we're stopping at both!) and work our way back. And we'll stop by Columbia and Papaya over here. Then I want to go inside the food court and use my coupon for Cupcakelicious, and maybe visit Claire's.

Then there's Nike, JOS A. Bank, and Nine West in this aisle, with a stop at Bose for Luis.

My main reason (excuse) for going today is to buy an anniversary present for Luis, so hopefully I'll find something awesome for him in one of those stores, if not, he loves Bose and music.

I'm not sure how long our shopping trip will be. I could easily stay there until close, but I doubt Allie and Kala will want to shop from 3 to 9, so we'll see. 

And then I'm going to go see Luis tonight and kick off our anniversary weekend!!!

MIA

So I've been MIA for a couple of crazy weeks.

And by crazy, I mean insane. Like not a second to spare insane.

Since I got back from Florida I've gone out a few times with friends, gone to the doctor, threw the baby shower, worked a TON, got a new job, worked some more, learned a whole new work environment, did some marketing stuff with CFA, finally started closing as a shift leader, reconnected with an old friend, moved back into my dorm, hung out with my mom, went back to school shopping, hosted a Girl Scout reunion, started school up again, and started working out. So yes, I'm exhausted and that's my excuse for not updating.

So now that I'm back, expect to hear about all that's been happening, because these past two weeks have been insanely full of goodies!

Here's To The Crazy Weekends

So I know I'm pretty late on this, but this past weekend was insane and it deserves a post!

Friday was the real adventure.

Alexa and I bought a Groupon together for $18 mani/pedis (I mean come on, who could resist that when most mani pedis are upwards of $30???) but we didn't look at how far away the nail salon was before purchasing... Whoops!

So Friday after I got off work, I picked up Alexa and we drove all the way to Douglasville (which was over an hour long ride with traffic). We show up in a cute, dainty, old-town looking downtown Douglasville. Turns out that our nail salon was actually a one lady show inside a barber shop. And we were supposed to have made appointments because she was actually just heading out. OUCH.

We then decided to just wander around this cute little dainty town and look, but we found nothing to do. Everything closed down at 5 and we had no money anyways.

So we start heading out, super thirsty and overheated because it's a million degrees outside. We stop by at a Racetrac to get some gas and water, and the real adventure starts.

Some background information: Lulu's gas pump is on the opposite side of most cars, so I always have a hard time getting into a pump. This time, I'm lucky enough to have a whole lane to myself so I can get into the one that would have me heading out, it was great!

What wasn't great was that there was a lady trying to come in the opposite way into the same pump, but there was a car driving right in front of me, blocking my view of her. Needless to say, she was upset.

I'm not a mean or rude person, and I definitely don't have road rage (although I do get slightly upset when people don't use their blinkers). So I start apologizing. My windows are rolled down and so are hers, so I figured she heard me. She then pulls up in the pump behind me, gets out her car, and starts cussing me out like crazy.

This lady was absolutely insane. I don't know what was her problem. And it really upset me too, because she had the Jesus fish sticker on the back of her car. Honestly, it is a shame to be representing our Lord and Savior in such a poor way. I can't imagine a worse thing. The devil's best weapon is a Christian who shows of his or her faith, but lives the opposite. Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging her to be a false Christian, but her actions that day were not representing Him well at all.

Anyways, she follows Alexa inside the gas station yelling at her too. Then she comes back outside, yelling some more. She called me all kinds of mean names. Although I won't deny, the one that offended me the most was not the curse words and the degrading terminology she directed towards me. What hurt the most was the fact that she called me 'raggedy' and 'bum'.

Excuse me? Now my pride and ego are hurt. Here I was in gorgeous Franco Fortini heels, a beautiful Oriental looking red and black dress, with Talbot earrings and my red lipstick, and this lady in sweats and a tank top has the audacity to call me raggedy. I care a little too much about my looks and clothes to have people dissing on my appearance. Go ahead and call me anything else, but leave my wardrobe out of it. Thank you. It might seem extremely superficial, but my pride is my weak spot and mine of the deadly sins.

She then wrote down my license plate number and snapped pictures of both of us, talking about how she was going to find us later. She even goes so far to tell us "I have a gun in the car and I know how to use it!" She also told us she's military and she's going to use that to run our tags, and that we could write down her license plate number all we wanted to because hers is a fake.

As soon as there was gas in the car, we hightailed it out of there!

And she followed. She followed us out the gas station all the way to the highway and would even switch lanes when we switched. So of course, I called 911.

We then went to the courthouse to file a police report and tell the officers what had happened. I was literally shaking all the way to the courthouse and didn't stop shaking until I was almost back home. They assured us that military cannot run tags and there would be no way for her to find us. Still nervous tho!

That was the biggest adventure of the weekend really.

After we got back to Alexa's house we got ready to go to a party at Carlin's. It was a going away party for a friend of hers. We didn't stay very long though. I had to work in the morning and I wasn't in the mood to work on an all-nighter.

Saturday I went to work, then picked up Alexa and Alise afterwards to go back to Douglasville and get our nails done (We had an appointment this time!). We ended up getting there way early, mostly because this time there wasn't any traffic. She was about to go get a late lunch when we got there, so we joined her at a pretty cool Jamaican restaurant. We didn't eat, but she did share some of her jerk chicken with us, and it was super spicy! (For my weak taste buds at least)

Finally, we went back and she did both Alexa's and my nails. She was super friendly and we chit chatted the whole time about Alise's nail and make up aspirations, as well as my love for clothes, weddings, and cakes. She told me that I should definitely go into fashion, because I was obviously a connoisseur. I loved her the moment she said that! I was wearing the cute Forever 21 pumps I bought for my birthday, along with a peach-ish salmon colored peplum skirt and a light blue, button up, sleeve-less top. It was an adorable outfit and I wish I had taken a picture in it! One guy told me I looked like a flower!

I showed her some of my cakes and now she wants me to make her a fake cake as a display to put in the salon so she can show it off to her customers and get me some business. She was really nice and encouraging to both Alise and I in our non-traditional dream jobs. It would be pretty awesome if I could be a wedding planner/ fashion industry/ bakery owner. She got me dreaming again, which is nice, because other than the bakery thing, no one has ever really encouraged me in any way about the fashion industry or wedding planning, which I think I would enjoy even more than the bakery.

She also did an amazing job on both Alexa and I. It was probably one of the best pedicures I've ever had! I 100% recommend her, so go check her out on her page, especially if you live close to Douglasville! I'll definitely be going back to her whenever I can fit the drive and nails to my budget. She's really affordable too, even without the Groupon!

After our mani/pedis were done, we went back to Alexa's to get ready for Pedro's birthday bash/ end of summer party.

On our way to Pedro's, we got a flat tire (Alise's car, not mine. Thank God. I don't think I could handle two flats less than a month apart). We were pretty scared, because it was night time, we were in party clothes, and definitely not in the best of neighborhoods. Fortunately, a nice man stopped and he had a jack to help us fix the flat. We left him a small tip and went on our way.

Pedro's party was pretty fun. Alexa had to work in the morning, so she and Alise left early, but I ended up staying with Luis, and we had a blast!

Overall, we had a pretty crazy fun weekend. It's a shame that summer's almost over...

Although I can't wait to see what the rest of summer leads to!

Brunna's Book Club - Friendship Bread

I read this book in June, but I didn't include it in the June book review because I definitely needed to give it its own post!

Friendship Bread by Darien Gee is a total feel-good novel! The reader is presented to all these different characters and families that are struggling with something in their lives. Perhaps the most broken of all these characters is Julia Evarts, whom the story tends to revolve around. Julia has spent the past five years of her life living in a vacuum, only doing the bare minimum she needed to survive and take care of her daughter, Gracie.

One day, things start changing for Julia. She finds a loaf of Amish Friendship Bread on her doorstep, along with a bag of starter and instructions on how to make more. When little Gracie insists that they make the Friendship Bread, Julia's life starts taking a new course. She ends up meeting two newcomers, rare in the small town of Avalon, and sharing the starter with them. The three women create a powerful friendship, and little by little, Julia begins coming out of her waking coma.

The Friendship Bread strikes Avalon like a plague and soon enough everyone has a bag of starter and millions of recipes for it. When disaster strikes a nearby town, the bread unites Avalon, forging new friendships and rehabilitating old, broken ones, as the town unites to help a neighbor in need.

It's the ultimate girly, feel-good novel! Everyone gets their happily ever after in a relatively realistic way, and you leave the novel with a good taste in your mouth. Not to mention all the recipes for the Amish Friendship Bread at the end of the book!

I definitely recommend it! It'll give you a good cry, and leave you fuzzy happy at the end!

The Worst Fourth

I definitely wasn't expecting anything grand out of my Fourth of July this year.

Last year I worked all day, got a flat tire, set off a few fireworks with Alexa, packed for my upcoming drive to Florida/flight to Nicaragua, then set off fireworks in Luis's backyard with a bunch of his friends. We crashed early because we had to leave for Florida in the morning (I promise to explain my love for Nicaragua on a later post, because it will be a loooooong post)

This year, it was a little more.... exciting, for lack of a better word.

Once again, I worked, but only half the day. Then I headed on to Kennesaw to shower and get ready for a, hopefully, fun Fourth. I felt terribly sick and we had zero plans, but I demand to be fabulous anyways.

Then I went over to Luis's house, and guess what? I got another flat tire!!! I seriously hope that this isn't about to become some perversely tragic Fourth of July tradition for me, because I simply can't deal with that every year.

Lucky me, I was probably less than two miles away from Luis's when it gave out. So I just pretended to ignore the extremely bouncy drive to his parking lot. Finally, I got there and he stepped out to look at the car. Oh, did I mention that it was raining??? Last year too.

How does that even happen??? I didn't hit anything or run over anything. I was just driving (at a safe speed too) and boom, all of a sudden the bumpy, uh-oh-I-think-I-have-a-flat driving started.

Anyways, the story gets better. Luis goes and tries to change the tire himself (because he's a man and for some stupid reason, men refuse to call professionals to fix things when needed, regardless of the pretty dime I pay my insurance company for unlimited roadside assistance) and he spends probably over an hour playing with the lug nuts and different tools.

Finally, Rodrigo and Jessica show up. Jessica and I leave the boys to their play mechanic games to work on an essay, and eventually, after another hour of playtime, they come back in defeat. Apparently, one of the lug nuts is 'stripped' (whatever that means) and normal tools can't get it out. So FINALLY, the boys let me call Geico to get this thing sorted out.

I explain to the insurance lady exactly what the issue with the bolt is and everything. The man she sends had no idea that the bolt was stripped before coming and he didn't have the tool for it. He leaves, being of no help other than to tell me to curse out my insurance lady (but she's so sweet I could never. Plus, call center people are only human! They make mistakes too!). I call Geico back and explain to the lady again everything that happened. This time she calls the companies around and asks about my specific problem. None of the companies do what I need. Great.

At this point my only option is to get a tow to a tire shop to fix my poor baby Lulu. The only problem? It's past 10 PM on a holiday. So I just get a reference number and leave it to deal with later. We finished the paper then went to Waffle House (because nothing is more patriotic in the South than Waffle House at midnight). It was too rainy to enjoy fireworks, so we settled for just listening to the loud bangs outside.

Yesterday morning I left for work with Luis's car. After work I come back and we tow the car to the tire shop, wait for a good 45 minutes in the lobby, and pay 9 bucks to find out that the bolt wasn't stripped at all, it was just differently shaped. Great.

So now I'm driving around on a spare until I have time to go to a used tire shop, because I have two more tires that look like they're about to give out too so I might as well replace them all.

Yay for car troubles, which I apparently have way too many of.

Shopping With The Ladies

Jessica, Karima and I went shopping... Again!

We actually just went to the mall with the intentions of getting our nails done, but as you should know by now, one thing led to another and money got spent.

Our first stop was Charming Charlie's because they just opened at Cumberland a month ago and we hadn't been yet! And there's a Michael Kors opening up soon too. Exciting!

I went craziest here because they were having a buy one get one FREE sale! Look at all the goodies I got without even spending $35!

The wallet was my favorite by far

Look at that adorable bow! (For some reason I couldn't get it to face the right way...) It's blue, my favorite color, and has my beautiful bow on it. Plus it opens up to this:

iPhone case and wallet all in one!!! I've been dying for one of these wallet cases, and now I finally have one! It was so cute, I bought it full price!

Then I went crazy on the earrings

They were so cheap, plus buy one get one free, I couldn't help myself when I saw all these adorable bows!

Who cares what else came in the set as long as I now have a bow earring in 3 different colors?

And on this last one, it was the Eiffel Towers that won me over. I'm still not sure what those circles are yet...

And it would be wonderful if my pictures cooperated with me again.

And we found tiaras inside Charming Charlie's! My twitter handle is Princessa Brunna, because princess is in English and princesa is in Portuguese, so I just combined the two to describe who I am. Regardless of how much money I have or my standing in life, I am so definitely a princess, so I had to try on tiaras!

The cuteness is overwhelming! And the tiaras all looked wonderful on me. I really do believe I should have been a princess.

Then Wet Seal was having a 50% off sale, so I got this adorable blazer!

It's too casual to wear legitimately with a business outfit, but it'll add a classy flair to any outfit I put together. Not to mention that while I have probably half a dozen black blazers, I don't own a white one. Finally!

Then we hit up H&M because they were having a $4 Fourth of July sale. Here's a screen shot of the Snapchat Jessica sent me of me trying to poke out my stomach to look pregnant like Karima (she's having a baby girl!!!)

We did end up visiting the nail salon and getting our mani-pedis. I hadn't had one since my 18th birthday! It was long overdue!

I fell in love with the super girly, and as Karima put it, princess-y, nail polish and glitter look. Unfortunately, my nails are disgusting from spending so long without being done and working so hard in restaurants and fast food, so even done, they look stubby and gross. But this is it. I'm determined to start taking better care of nails again. I used to go to the nail salon every 3 weeks before I moved out. I won't splurge like that anymore, but I can do small nail maintenance at home and only go every other month or something like that. We'll see.

On the way home, we blasted the radio loud and I was jamming and driving at the same time, while Jessica and Karima laughed their heads off at other peoples' expressions. How can you not enjoy a night with a sunset like this??

Overall, it was an amazing day spent with my girls, and the day ended on a good note.

Adventures In Tennessee

I went whitewater rafting yesterday!!!

It was soooo intense!

A while back I found a Groupon for a white water rafting trip for four on the Ocoee river, and naturally, it ended up being me, Luis, Jessica, and Rodrigo. Whenever Luis and I do double dates, it's always those two who we go with.

We woke up bright and early to start our trip up to Tennessee at 6am, but we didn't end up leaving until well after 6, due to the fact that we somehow lost my car keys. (Lulu gets the best mileage out of all our cars, so we decided to drive her up... I didn't do any driving though. Rodrigo drove up there and Luis drove back.) It was actually kind of a disaster of a morning. Usually I'm super organized and extra prepared when it comes to these things, but I just failed yesterday (I'm blaming it on the fact that I worked over 50 hours last week). I brought 3 pairs of shorts for me for the weekend, but didn't bring a single top, so I borrowed one of Jessica's shirts. I also forgot to send everyone the packing list from the website, and ended up sending it at 5 30 am the day of. 

We finally got out on the road, had breakfast at a McDonald's out in northern Georgia, and made it to our destination by 9 30. Turns out, I also forgot to print out the Groupon that we had bought! Luckily, the lady gave me an email address that I could e-mail the voucher to so she could print it for me. Whew. That would have been bad.

Then we grabbed our paddles and went out on our great adventure!

It was about a 3 and a half hour trip. We had two of the rafting company's staff on our raft and we went through many many rapids, ranging from class 2 to class 4. It was pretty intense! There was a part of the river that didn't have any rapids, so we jumped out of the raft and swam for a while. The water was FREEZING! I swear we all looked purple after we got back into the raft.

After the rafting trip was over, we ate at Zaxby's. They all ate hot and insane wings while I sat there nibbling on my Nibblerz. I will never understand how people can stand to eat such spicy things, but they do it and they enjoy it. Go figure.

Then we decided to get to know a Tennessean mall. We ended up finding a shoe store with an amazing sale, and I bought the cutest pair of heels ever. They are officially my new favorite pair!

The mall trip lasted a short while. The boys weren't having fun following us around into stores, and we didn't have money to spend anyways. So finally came the next crazy part. We didn't want to end the day quite yet, and we had driven so far to come to Tennessee! We needed to do at least one more thing before heading home. (One more failure to plan on my part. I had intended to find something else for us to do in Tennessee to occupy the whole day, but never got around to it)

We ended up going to a fireworks store and buying lots of goodies. What else is there to do in Tennessee other than things that are illegal in Georgia right? So we went to this huge fireworks store and browsed all the wonderful selections and ended up buying a good amount of fireworks.

We had to wait until night time to properly enjoy them, but when the time came, we had the time of our lives!

That is me setting off a roman candle, and Luis aiming the thing so I wouldn't hit any trees or hurt myself. Jessica always takes the best pictures of me and Luis. Some of my favorite shots of me and him were taken by her.

We also had some that whizzed away when we lit them, sparklers that also shot off, some things that sounded like gun shots, firecrackers, and more. It was a lot of fun.

We wrapped up the night by sitting on Luis's couch watching Fast and Furious. Well, they watched it while I lied down on Luis's lap reading my book (Yes, it was that good!). 

When everyone went home, it took me all of a minute to fall asleep after my head hit the pillow. It was an extremely long day, but totally worth the exhaustion I felt at the end.

Sick Day

I'm being a sick puppy today ):

Last night I was hanging out with Luis, Carlin, and Pedro when I passed out.

Turns out I had forgotten to eat all day.

Good thing that it was at the end of the day yesterday so Luis spent the night with me taking care of me, but I still had to go to work today. I was supposed to work from 11 to close, but ended up coming in at 10 30.

Today was probably the worst work day I have ever had in my life. I was super light headed all day long, and slightly incoherent. I was slow on understanding what people were saying to me, and I wasn't even smiling brightly at my customers! I was just kind of hazy all day long.

I didn't eat anything last night after passing out, because I was pretty sure that I was going to throw up if I did, especially since I was already feeling woozy and my stomach was upset. I had a chicken biscuit and a half this morning. Then lunch was what turned me over. I had chicken strips, a parfait, and a cookie. I should have probably skipped the fried stuff, because my stomach really started hurting after that. I ended up throwing up two hours after eating and finally got sent home.

So now I'm lying down in bed, totally ready to turn in early.

Hopefully I'll be feeling better for work tomorrow!

Birthday? No. Birth-week!

I prolonged my birthday celebrations as much as I possibly could.

I took the whole weekend off and made tons of plans with all my friends (:

Friday was just a sleep in until way past noon. Like way wayyy past noon. Like until 6. And after I woke up, Luis and I went to Panda and picked up some movies from the Red Box.

It was definitely a no makeup, no fixed hair, jeans and a long shirt kind of day. We went back to my dorm after gorging ourselves on fried rice, chow mein, mandarin chicken, golden honey roasted walnut shrimp, and green bean chicken. We watched Django, which was pretty good, then went right back to sleep.

Saturday we woke up considerably earlier at around noon. We then watched Silver Linings Playbook, which was also really good. (anything with Jennifer Lawrence in it is good!) Then I got ready to go out with my beautiful God-daughter and best friend, Alexa. I put on this top that I bought at Wet Seal from their penny sale. It's a little too small, but for one cent and cuteness, I can stand not breathing for a few hours.

I picked her up and we went to Bistro Niko to pick up my lost purse. I was SO happy when I woke up to their wonderful phone call telling me it had been turned it! Everything was still in the purse, it was great! We then stopped by Mickey D's because I hadn't eaten all day, and since my card was cancelled, all I had were the $15 I had left inside my purse. We then went to her place to meet up with her friend, Alise.

We chilled there for a while talking about make up and movies and jobs and all that fun stuff girls talk about when they get together. Finally, the fourth person to our party showed up and we went to the dollar movies.

We watched Jack the Giant Slayer and it was actually really good. I really enjoyed it. It made me sit on the edge of my seat (figuratively) in excitement over the action, made me sigh, made me hope, made me laugh, and made me cry. That's a pretty good movie to me.

Finally the movie was over and we went our separate ways, but not before Alexa gave me my birthday presents. I swear, she knows my style so well and always buys me the cutest things!

And it always comes in the cutest packaging. She once gave my mom this gift that came in the most gorgeous gift box I have ever seen. I don't remember what came inside the box, but it's still sitting in my mom's living room as decoration.

Inside the cute box above, came this beautiful scarf. The picture truly does not do it justice. It's a bad picture in awful lighting and way too close to see the overall image, but I promise, the scarf is adorable!

So cute! I feel like these earrings are totally business world, sophisticated earrings. Perfect for me! You don't see any teenagers running around with earrings like that, however, me? I'll rock them!

After I left the movies, I went to Luis's house so we could go to the wedding reception together. It was probably one of the most Mexican parties I have ever been to, and I go to a lot of Mexican parties, trust me. They had the whole banda there playing their 5 million instruments and singing. It was fun though.

Luis wasn't really in the dancing mood, so I ended up dancing with his mom, which was pretty fun. There's this one song, Caballo Dorado, which is like a Mexican version of the Cha Cha Slide, only funner, that we danced to together, and I could not stop laughing! It was a great night!

Then Sunday was nice too. We slept in late and went to Mass at 5.

After Mass we went to the last college ministry meeting for the school year. That was really fun. Since it was Cinco de Mayo, we had authentic Mexican food (not that Tex-Mex stuff) and ate to our tummies content. Then we had Adoration, which is such a beautiful experience every time. Adoration is probably my favorite part of being a Catholic. We then went our separate ways so I could study my butt of for finals!

Monday was just a normal day, no birthday fun. I worked in the morning, went to school, took a final, then spent the rest of the day on Hulu catching up on Once Upon A Time (I knew Queen Regina was a softie at heart!).

Then Tuesday was when things picked up again. I went to work in the morning and got to lead shift for the first time! I was really excited about that! I'm training to be a team leader (assistant manager in Chick-fil-A lingo) so finally getting to lead the shift on my own was fun and exciting. I ended up staying wayyy past when I was supposed to leave, so I could get more training in. Finally I leave and head to Chili's to meet my girls!

I have two other friends whose birthdays are also in May, Emily and Estela. So we decided that we were going to do something together to celebrate all three of our birthdays. We have been talking about going to Chili's to just get their chocolate molten lava cake since September and it still hasn't happened, so we figured that this would be our opportunity to do so! We invited two more friends, Daena and Jessica (not the shopping one, the one that I went to Rumba with. I'll just call her JP from now on because that's her nickname anyways) to come celebrate with us!

Of course, nothing ever goes as planned. Daena had a million errands to run for her mom and couldn't make it, and Estela's grandparents are in town so she couldn't make it either. It was alright though, JP brought another friend with her and the four of us had a grand time.

We had so much food! We ordered that 3 different appetizers thing with spicy boneless wings, honey boneless wings, and potato skins. Then we each had an entree which was delicious. I had the light version of the steak, and Yane let me try one of her bacon something quesadillas which was also really good. Finally, the moment we were all waiting for came, dessert time! We ordered two of the molten lava cakes, one for us to eat then, and the other to take to Estela, since she couldn't join us and it was her birthday too.

When it was finally time to go, we turned Chili's into our photo booth. We took so many pictures and it was great. I had so much fun with my friends (:

Shopping Trip!!!

This past week has been absolutely insane! In a super fun way.

In lieu of this, my posts are going to be a teeny bit outdated. I'm going to post about the shopping trip today, and about my birthday (hopefully) tomorrow, because both days were so super awesome that they each need their own individual post!

Here we go!

My shopping trip with Karima and Jessica was awesome!! We had so much super girly fun!

First I had to go to Chick-fil-A and have a meeting with the other drive thru team leader. We got lots of ideas flowing, and we will soon be the best drive thru anyone has ever been in! That's the goal anyways.

Then I had to convince Jessica to come with us, because she decided to be lame and try to bail. But in the end she caved in and decided to come (which she later acknowledged as being the best choice!).

So after I do my runarounds and pick up the ladies, we headed on over to Lenox Mall, which is where all the celebrities shop apparently. They have Prada and Burberry and Kate Spade and Aldo and Ann Taylor and Armani Exchange and Bloomingdale's and BCBGMAXAZRIA and BVLGARI and Coach and Michael Kors and Fendi and Lacoste and Louis Vuitton and Mac and Sephora and Oakley and Pandora and True Religion and Zara and all these places that I don't have enough money to even look inside (I went inside Kate Spade hoping to find something adorable and affordable. I almost cried. Everything was adorable, nothing affordable)

The first store we went inside that we could actually afford was Mac, which is pricey in itself, but we all wanted new lipstick. I brought a tube of Mac lipstick with me that I got for Christmas over two years ago that had finally run out. Amazing color, I love it! It was a nice neutral color that gave a really finished look to any outfit, especially business-y ones. However, I had the displeasure of being told by the makeup artist/attendant lady at the store that my tube was a fake. WHAT?? How embarrassing!

I later on found out from my mom that it was only sort of fake. She bought it from China from the same factory that produced the Mac lipstick. Exact same formula and tube, and the only difference is a sticker that they put at the bottom of the tube. I ended up finding the exact same color at the store and buying it. So now I'm legit with my official Rumblin' Rose lipstick. Not that I don't have other real ones, I think I buy a new color every time I walk inside that store.

We got Jessica her very first tube of lipstick! I was so proud. I always feel like Alicia Silverstone in Clueless whenever I go shopping with people who aren't as avidly fashion obsessed as I am. We found a good, not too bold, lipstick color for her in Mac that she loved too. Then later on we went to Sephora, where I had tons of fun applying makeup on her. She's so cute, and I had a ball putting on bronzer and eye shadow on her!

I ended up buying a new bottle of Bobbi Brown's Warm Sand foundation, because my last bottle ran out. They say that the best way to know if something is truly a good product, is if you completely use up the first one and go back to buy a second.

I really like this foundation. It looks really natural, so if I don't wear anything else on my face, I can just put this on and look like I have no make up on! It's also SPF 15. Now, I hate sunscreen. I never ever wear sunscreen, even though I know I should. I just don't like the smell of it, or applying it, and I never sun burn so I have no incentive to wear it. I know it's good to keep your skin healthy and everything, so I've started looking for makeup that has SPF included to trick myself into wearing it! Plus, it's long wear. So it lasts all day long without fading. And it gives my face that natural healthy glowing look. I love it (even though I wish the price tag was a little lower).

Sephora also gave me a little early birthday present!

As part of the rewards club at Sephora, I get cute perks like this! It's a little box with a tiny tube of mascara and a tiny tube of highlighter. The mascara is lovely. I've been using it and it's beautiful. I have clump-free, long lashes every time! I'm pretty excited about the highlighter. I've never used one before, so as soon as I have some extra time, I'm going to Pinterest highlighters and figure out how to use it. I can't wait to try it on!

As far as I'm concerned, no shopping trip is complete without a visit to Victoria's Secret. Last time I went, I bought this totally adorable eye shadow pallet with eye liner and tutorial included!

Sultry Spring. I would probably have never even picked this up if it wasn't for my Secret Rewards card, and I am SO glad I did! It really is the perfect spring pallet. It comes with two different looks, along with instructions on where to put each color, in what order, and how to blend. I absolutely love it.

I like the pink/purple look the most. I use it with all my spring outfits. I used to be a natural colors only girl, but this pallet changed my ways. I've gotten lots of compliments on it too!

After falling so much in love with the Sultry Spring pallet, it was only natural for me to go back and get the second tutorial pallet that VS offers. The fact that the name is Sexy Smoky made me really excited. I've been dying to try out the smoky eye look, so this was the perfect opportunity for me to do so!

I won't lie, I wasn't quite as pleased with this pallet. I tried wearing it on my birthday, only to find out that the smoky eye look is not for me. Black eye shadow just didn't go well with my complexion. I was really upset that I had decided to try it on my birthday, because I spent all day regretting my eye shadow color choice. On the other hand, I tried the brown pallet on the Sexy Smoky on Saturday and it was great. It created this subtle, yet noticeable gold hue to my eyes, and I think it looked great, I even got a compliment on it. We all know which colors will be most used on this pallet.

I actually bought this skirt on sale at Forever 21 back in March when I went shopping in Florida with my mommy. I was wearing some cute black flats with it too. I felt like such a cutie.

The store were in in this picture was probably one of the more fun stores we went inside, with the exception of the mean looking owner staring us down the entire time. The store had a buy one, get one half off sale on everything except sterling silver, and I am a sucker for a good sale. My favorite section of the store was this one corner of a wall filled with hats. We tried on hats to fill our heart's content.

Here comes the bride...

I finally ended up buying this one as a birthday present to myself (super splurge on my part)

My guilt reliever of buying a hat that cost $18, was the fact that summer is coming up, and I will have plenty of excuses to wear a cute spring/summer hat like this one.

Here's the top view. The adorable-ness of this hat is just too much to stand. I'm in love with it. Hopefully I will be able to find plenty of reason to wear it this summer!

And of course, my favorite store ever... Forever 21!!!

I can't walk inside this store without buying at least one thing and trying on at least five! I bought my birthday outfit from here!

The first thing I saw when I walked in the store were these ADORABLE heels on sale for $14.

I saw them, and they screamed out my name. I tried them on, and on my feet they stayed. Until it was time to check out at the store, I walked around wearing them with the safety thing hanging off the side, because I loved them THAT MUCH! Plus, it was good to start breaking them in while at the store. It saves a little bit of pain later on.

Then, I found a SUPER sale. I didn't even spend $20 in total buying all three necklaces, the eye shadow pallet, and the eye liner.

These are all so super cute! I'm planning on giving two of the necklaces as birthday gifts to my friends!

Then of course, clothes. I ended up buying two dresses, and Jessica bought a shirt. Karima spent the least out of all of us. She's so good and responsible! Although she did manage to snag some adorable sandals at Wet Seal.

I bought this blue dress because it was soooo adorable! 

I feel like it's really different, and not a lot of people would have a similar looking dress. It's also great now that the warm weather is coming. I can totally see myself wearing this around on a beach or pool day. Or I can throw a belt on like in this picture and wear it to less casual place.

The possibilities are endless! I just loved this dress! Plus, it was on sale, which makes it a double whammy.

Oh, and I also got this adorable Hello Kitty car air freshener that smells like strawberries. My excitement was almost uncontrollable when I found it!

I won't show any pictures of my birthday dress, because that's a special surprise for tomorrow's post.

I could keep going on and on about the shopping trip. After all, we did stay there for over 5 hours!

Overall, it was a great day, and I can't wait for our next shopping trip!
