Lazy Day to Busy Day

I love lazy days!!

Sunday was most definitely a very lazy day.

Luis had to work all day, so I just chilled in my dorm alllllll day, watching The Bachelorette!

Carlin introduced me to it this past Tuesday, and I watched 3 episode over the week, and finished catching up on all the rest of the episodes yesterday. It drove me absolutely crazy. I thought I would hate it and dismiss it as a corny, fake show, but I'm in love with this corny, fake show! I can't wait to watch last night's episode today!

While watching The Bachelorette, I also took the opportunity to paint my nails a super glittery light purple color, and I munched on soooo many snacks (unhealthy day too!)

And then I started on Masterchef, because I love me some Gordon Ramsey, and all his TV shows! I also loved seasons 2 and 3 (didn't watch 1...), so when I saw that season 4 had already started and was already 14 episodes in, I knew I had to catch up ASAP. (It made me feel really guilty about the snacks. When will I have a real kitchen???)

I also filled out a few job applications and went to sleep super duper extra early, like 9 PM early. It was a good day to relax after the craziness of Cow Appreciation Day!

But then Monday came around.

Unlike most of the general population, I do not hate Mondays. I actually like starting the week and getting things done. As much as I love weekends and wish they could be slightly longer, I see no reason to hate on poor Monday just because it comes first.

Anyways, it was a busy morning. I woke up extra early, picked up Karima, and headed to Chick-fil-A for breakfast. I used our printer their to print off a few things for Karima's baby shower. I actually can't wait to post about that!! We then had breakfast with Jessica, since she was working.

Finally, we drove up to Ulta because apparently they were having a sale that Karima absolutely had to catch. We got there at almost 9, but they didn't open until 10. So we just chilled outside at Whole Foods filling out applications and taking selfies.

Finally, Ulta opened and we went inside. Karima bought some face wipe things and almost bought gel eye liner, and I got a $2 foot scrubber thing. I have no idea what those rocks are called... But it was a little set and cheap and since I've started on a "do my own nails" mission, I figured it was a good, cheap investment.

Then we left and went back to Cumberland Mall. A little background: we went on Saturday cause Karima was dying to buy a sundress she had seen there on sale. I ended up doing some in store job hunting, and this guy at Teavana fell in love with me pretty much. When I asked if they were hiring his eyes got big and round and he started talking about how they need great people persons and good customer service skills (I actually didn't go in there to apply, but we got comfortable chatting over different types of tea so I figured why not?). So he made me come back yesterday with an application.

My fruits of the day? An interview with Teavana on Wednesday, with only one more after that. A phone interview with New York and Company on Thursday (I'm really hoping that this one is the winner... I love NYC!!!), the lady loved the fact that I'm bilingual (ahem, multilingual thank you very much) and told me that they were looking to hire a Spanish speaker (why are my Portuguese and French always ignored???) and was really excited about me (YAY!!!).

I also dropped off a few other applications and resumes. Charming Charlie told me that they were going to start doing interviews soon, and that they always pulled the ones with resumes first. Victoria's Secret just politely took my application and told me that they would give it to the hiring manager (This would be my 2nd choice, but they asked the least questions *tears*). Forever 21 totally gave me the third degree asking about how I would balance school, Chick-fil-A, and them. Like excuse me? I wouldn't be applying if I thought I wasn't capable. I've juggled 3 jobs and school before, so chill. They were one of my top choices, but I'm not so sure now, with that awful attitude the manager had (Still, an employee discount there would be sweet!).

H&M totally turned me down though. They told me to come back mid-August and try again. I also considered Wet Seal and Charlotte Russe, but I didn't really want to work at either one. The employee discounts there didn't really draw me in. I haven't been a fan of Aeropostale or American Eagle since middle school, other than for jeans. So that's all I applied to.

Then it was work time. I had an hour long meeting with Liz about my leadership journey, which went pretty well I thought. After that, it was just work as usual, only extra slow because everyone decided that they didn't want chicken yesterday. Like we were really, really, extra, super slow. Crazy slow. It was painful. I got to learn lots of shift leader stuff, so that was fun, sorta. It was a great time to really connect with customers and keep the store spotless.

So yea, that was the beginning of my week! How did yours go??

Ready For Summer

I had a lovely lazy beginning to my week.

After Mother's Day, life went back to normal for my family, except for the fact that I was still hanging around. My mom went back to work. Brian went back to school. Everyone had their own thing to do.

So I just chilled for a while. I visited the dentist on Monday and was a lazy butt for the rest of the day.

Whenever I get long periods of break time, I do a lot of web-surfing, which involved a lot of Polyvore for me on Monday.

I tried to keep a theme going with my Monday outfits. I have an obsession with professional clothes as you all already know, so I was purposely trying not to make business outfits. My theme was summer clothes, so here you are:

This is my southern girl look, I do live in the south after all. Or maybe it's a cowgirl look? Either way, I like it! The skirt is probably my favorite item in the whole outfit. The bolero is just there because I feel like the outfit is incomplete on Polyvore without an outerwear piece. I probably would keep it off even if it was chilly tho, the outfit is cute enough without any covering. And the hat is just the pièce de résistance to finish off the southern/western vibe of the outfit.

Here's another skirt look. It is definitely not my favorite look. I think I was rushed when I made this one. I think it's the jewelry that makes me not like it. I should have left it without the jewelry to keep the look simple, as it was meant to be. Also, the basket look and the gold don't go together. So let's just ignore all the jewelry and focus on those cute wedges and that hat that's ready for summer!

Here's a nice and simple look. I finally picked out flats for an outfit! I guess I learned my mistake from the previous outfit. If an outfit looks best simple, don't keep adding stuff to it. Heels would have just made the simplicity of this outfit look awkward. My favorite pieces from this outfit? The adorable bracelet set from Charlotte Russe and the dress from Nine West. Least favorite? The Guess purse. It's cute, but probably not the best purse for this outfit.

After two outfits that I didn't like so much, here's a cutie. This one I would probably leave without the denim jacket, though. It's just there again for the sake of having outerwear. And look! I picked out non-heel shoes again! You all should feel very proud of me, I never wear nor pick out flat shoes. I do love how the stud earrings and the drops match so well. The studs are from Kate Spade and the drops from Barney's. And the cute case from Ralph Lauren was just a lucky find that went along so well with my outfit, I couldn't resist. I loved everything about this outfit so much. From the Sperry watch, to the cute little bow necklace, to the Chanel flap bag, this whole outfit is just lovely.

But as lovely as the previous outfit is, I have to leave the best for last. That Michael Kors off the shoulder jersey top is simply gorgeous. I would wear it all the time during the summer if I owned it. I love off the shoulder looks. Then the Dolce and Gabbana tote bag is a beautiful accessory, along with that Charlotte Russe necklace. The AX Paris pumps though? So lovely. I honestly can't pick a favorite item from this outfit. It's just so perfect! Someone please buy me this whole outfit??

(Did you notice that I finally made an outfit without outerwear?)

But now my lazy week is over and I gotta cram as much work in as possible over the next few days before coming back next week!

Birthday? No. Birth-week!

I prolonged my birthday celebrations as much as I possibly could.

I took the whole weekend off and made tons of plans with all my friends (:

Friday was just a sleep in until way past noon. Like way wayyy past noon. Like until 6. And after I woke up, Luis and I went to Panda and picked up some movies from the Red Box.

It was definitely a no makeup, no fixed hair, jeans and a long shirt kind of day. We went back to my dorm after gorging ourselves on fried rice, chow mein, mandarin chicken, golden honey roasted walnut shrimp, and green bean chicken. We watched Django, which was pretty good, then went right back to sleep.

Saturday we woke up considerably earlier at around noon. We then watched Silver Linings Playbook, which was also really good. (anything with Jennifer Lawrence in it is good!) Then I got ready to go out with my beautiful God-daughter and best friend, Alexa. I put on this top that I bought at Wet Seal from their penny sale. It's a little too small, but for one cent and cuteness, I can stand not breathing for a few hours.

I picked her up and we went to Bistro Niko to pick up my lost purse. I was SO happy when I woke up to their wonderful phone call telling me it had been turned it! Everything was still in the purse, it was great! We then stopped by Mickey D's because I hadn't eaten all day, and since my card was cancelled, all I had were the $15 I had left inside my purse. We then went to her place to meet up with her friend, Alise.

We chilled there for a while talking about make up and movies and jobs and all that fun stuff girls talk about when they get together. Finally, the fourth person to our party showed up and we went to the dollar movies.

We watched Jack the Giant Slayer and it was actually really good. I really enjoyed it. It made me sit on the edge of my seat (figuratively) in excitement over the action, made me sigh, made me hope, made me laugh, and made me cry. That's a pretty good movie to me.

Finally the movie was over and we went our separate ways, but not before Alexa gave me my birthday presents. I swear, she knows my style so well and always buys me the cutest things!

And it always comes in the cutest packaging. She once gave my mom this gift that came in the most gorgeous gift box I have ever seen. I don't remember what came inside the box, but it's still sitting in my mom's living room as decoration.

Inside the cute box above, came this beautiful scarf. The picture truly does not do it justice. It's a bad picture in awful lighting and way too close to see the overall image, but I promise, the scarf is adorable!

So cute! I feel like these earrings are totally business world, sophisticated earrings. Perfect for me! You don't see any teenagers running around with earrings like that, however, me? I'll rock them!

After I left the movies, I went to Luis's house so we could go to the wedding reception together. It was probably one of the most Mexican parties I have ever been to, and I go to a lot of Mexican parties, trust me. They had the whole banda there playing their 5 million instruments and singing. It was fun though.
.

Luis wasn't really in the dancing mood, so I ended up dancing with his mom, which was pretty fun. There's this one song, Caballo Dorado, which is like a Mexican version of the Cha Cha Slide, only funner, that we danced to together, and I could not stop laughing! It was a great night!

Here's out picture for the night!

Then Sunday was nice too. We slept in late and went to Mass at 5.

After Mass we went to the last college ministry meeting for the school year. That was really fun. Since it was Cinco de Mayo, we had authentic Mexican food (not that Tex-Mex stuff) and ate to our tummies content. Then we had Adoration, which is such a beautiful experience every time. Adoration is probably my favorite part of being a Catholic. We then went our separate ways so I could study my butt of for finals!

Monday was just a normal day, no birthday fun. I worked in the morning, went to school, took a final, then spent the rest of the day on Hulu catching up on Once Upon A Time (I knew Queen Regina was a softie at heart!).

Then Tuesday was when things picked up again. I went to work in the morning and got to lead shift for the first time! I was really excited about that! I'm training to be a team leader (assistant manager in Chick-fil-A lingo) so finally getting to lead the shift on my own was fun and exciting. I ended up staying wayyy past when I was supposed to leave, so I could get more training in. Finally I leave and head to Chili's to meet my girls!

I have two other friends whose birthdays are also in May, Emily and Estela. So we decided that we were going to do something together to celebrate all three of our birthdays. We have been talking about going to Chili's to just get their chocolate molten lava cake since September and it still hasn't happened, so we figured that this would be our opportunity to do so! We invited two more friends, Daena and Jessica (not the shopping one, the one that I went to Rumba with. I'll just call her JP from now on because that's her nickname anyways) to come celebrate with us!

Of course, nothing ever goes as planned. Daena had a million errands to run for her mom and couldn't make it, and Estela's grandparents are in town so she couldn't make it either. It was alright though, JP brought another friend with her and the four of us had a grand time.

Me, Emily, Yane, and JP (:

We had so much food! We ordered that 3 different appetizers thing with spicy boneless wings, honey boneless wings, and potato skins. Then we each had an entree which was delicious. I had the light version of the steak, and Yane let me try one of her bacon something quesadillas which was also really good. Finally, the moment we were all waiting for came, dessert time! We ordered two of the molten lava cakes, one for us to eat then, and the other to take to Estela, since she couldn't join us and it was her birthday too.

When it was finally time to go, we turned Chili's into our photo booth. We took so many pictures and it was great. I had so much fun with my friends (:

Lazy Day

Yesterday was an interesting change of pace for me.

I spent ALL day in my dorm. I don't remember the last time I had an entire day with nothing to do and no need to leave my room.

So what does super busy bee me do on a rare day off?

Well, I started off by sleeping in until 11 30. That was a lovely refreshment from the constant waking up before my alarm clock went off of this past weekend.

I would love an alarm clock with Belle on it!

Then I just web surfed for a really long time.
I blogged

And pinned

And made outfits on Polyvore

And discovered new wedding blogs

And Facebooked

And Twittered

Then I decided to brave Hulu again (I really really really dislike Hulu. It's so slow compared to Netflix, and I need to watch dumb ads.) to watch the newest season of Once Upon A Time... I really like the show, or else I would never waste 6 hours trying to watch three 45 minute episodes.

And since Hulu takes forever to load, I decided to tackle my room during loading periods. So now my room is super clean!

I made my bed

I put my shoes up

And I organized my closet

And I vacuumed

That's my empty laundry bag in the upper left. Talk about productive!

And I even updated my calender!

Then after tackling my room, I decided to tackle myself. I took a super long and delicious shower. You know those that you just stand there and let the water wash you away? If my dorm bathroom had a bathtub, it would have been a bath salt/bubble bath kind of day. But unfortunately, it's just a shower, no bubble bath capabilities. And after that long, lovely HOT sauna like shower, I straightened my hair. Mind you, my hair take an hour minimum to straighten. I spent a good two hours on it yesterday (while still attempting to watch Once Upon A Time as it slowly buffered)

This picture was taken today. Part of the lazy day included staying in my PJs all day long
Then I decided to paint my nails.

And I web-surfed some more.

And I started playing a new Wii Game that I bought a few weeks back.

Finally, Luis calls at 10PM (At night! It took all day!!!) and he's waiting outside with my car! I haven't seen Lulu yet, but he said that both bumper and mirror are looking better, which is good. I'll put up some pictures of her later, once I see her. She sure did take a good chunk of my bank account. Actually, she took up everything I had saved up for my birthday, with the exception of $14... The struggle is real here folks.

Anyways, now I have a clean room to enjoy, lots of new pins and wedding knowledge, my hair looks fabulous, and my nails look decent, not to mention I've caught up some more on sleep and Once Upon A Time.

Now my life can go back on it's crazy track.
