Day Off

Today my day is completely free!

I have a day off with no obligations! YAY!!! 

Of course I made a few plans to enjoy it (:

Today is going to be a pampering day for me, to kick off my anniversary weekend the right way!

First, I'm going to straighten my hair while watching Netflix (MY FAIR WEDDING! MY FAIR WEDDING!)

Then I'm picking Kala up and we're going to get our nails done

And then we're picking Allie up and we're going to officially hit up the Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta!

And I'm super have a plan woman, so of course I've already picked out the stores we're definitely going to have to go to, plus whatever they wanna go in.

We're going to start in the upper right, because that's where I parked when I worked at the Chick-fil-A there, and it's closest to Kate Spade! Of course, Kate Spade is stop number one for me! White House Black Market and J. Crew are next for me. Maybe a stop at Steve Madden too, depends on them. I have a feeling Allie will want to stop at Michael Kors.

Tommy Hilfiger is another definite stop for me, then Puma at the end of that aisle. We will then walk all the way down to Charlotte Russe and Adidas (we're stopping at both!) and work our way back. And we'll stop by Columbia and Papaya over here. Then I want to go inside the food court and use my coupon for Cupcakelicious, and maybe visit Claire's.

Then there's Nike, JOS A. Bank, and Nine West in this aisle, with a stop at Bose for Luis.

My main reason (excuse) for going today is to buy an anniversary present for Luis, so hopefully I'll find something awesome for him in one of those stores, if not, he loves Bose and music.

I'm not sure how long our shopping trip will be. I could easily stay there until close, but I doubt Allie and Kala will want to shop from 3 to 9, so we'll see. 

And then I'm going to go see Luis tonight and kick off our anniversary weekend!!!

Here's To The Crazy Weekends

So I know I'm pretty late on this, but this past weekend was insane and it deserves a post!

Friday was the real adventure.

Alexa and I bought a Groupon together for $18 mani/pedis (I mean come on, who could resist that when most mani pedis are upwards of $30???) but we didn't look at how far away the nail salon was before purchasing... Whoops!

So Friday after I got off work, I picked up Alexa and we drove all the way to Douglasville (which was over an hour long ride with traffic). We show up in a cute, dainty, old-town looking downtown Douglasville. Turns out that our nail salon was actually a one lady show inside a barber shop. And we were supposed to have made appointments because she was actually just heading out. OUCH.

We then decided to just wander around this cute little dainty town and look, but we found nothing to do. Everything closed down at 5 and we had no money anyways.

So we start heading out, super thirsty and overheated because it's a million degrees outside. We stop by at a Racetrac to get some gas and water, and the real adventure starts.

Some background information: Lulu's gas pump is on the opposite side of most cars, so I always have a hard time getting into a pump. This time, I'm lucky enough to have a whole lane to myself so I can get into the one that would have me heading out, it was great!

What wasn't great was that there was a lady trying to come in the opposite way into the same pump, but there was a car driving right in front of me, blocking my view of her. Needless to say, she was upset.

I'm not a mean or rude person, and I definitely don't have road rage (although I do get slightly upset when people don't use their blinkers). So I start apologizing. My windows are rolled down and so are hers, so I figured she heard me. She then pulls up in the pump behind me, gets out her car, and starts cussing me out like crazy.

This lady was absolutely insane. I don't know what was her problem. And it really upset me too, because she had the Jesus fish sticker on the back of her car. Honestly, it is a shame to be representing our Lord and Savior in such a poor way. I can't imagine a worse thing. The devil's best weapon is a Christian who shows of his or her faith, but lives the opposite. Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging her to be a false Christian, but her actions that day were not representing Him well at all.

Anyways, she follows Alexa inside the gas station yelling at her too. Then she comes back outside, yelling some more. She called me all kinds of mean names. Although I won't deny, the one that offended me the most was not the curse words and the degrading terminology she directed towards me. What hurt the most was the fact that she called me 'raggedy' and 'bum'.

Excuse me? Now my pride and ego are hurt. Here I was in gorgeous Franco Fortini heels, a beautiful Oriental looking red and black dress, with Talbot earrings and my red lipstick, and this lady in sweats and a tank top has the audacity to call me raggedy. I care a little too much about my looks and clothes to have people dissing on my appearance. Go ahead and call me anything else, but leave my wardrobe out of it. Thank you. It might seem extremely superficial, but my pride is my weak spot and mine of the deadly sins.

She then wrote down my license plate number and snapped pictures of both of us, talking about how she was going to find us later. She even goes so far to tell us "I have a gun in the car and I know how to use it!" She also told us she's military and she's going to use that to run our tags, and that we could write down her license plate number all we wanted to because hers is a fake.

As soon as there was gas in the car, we hightailed it out of there!

And she followed. She followed us out the gas station all the way to the highway and would even switch lanes when we switched. So of course, I called 911.

We then went to the courthouse to file a police report and tell the officers what had happened. I was literally shaking all the way to the courthouse and didn't stop shaking until I was almost back home. They assured us that military cannot run tags and there would be no way for her to find us. Still nervous tho!

That was the biggest adventure of the weekend really.

After we got back to Alexa's house we got ready to go to a party at Carlin's. It was a going away party for a friend of hers. We didn't stay very long though. I had to work in the morning and I wasn't in the mood to work on an all-nighter.

Saturday I went to work, then picked up Alexa and Alise afterwards to go back to Douglasville and get our nails done (We had an appointment this time!). We ended up getting there way early, mostly because this time there wasn't any traffic. She was about to go get a late lunch when we got there, so we joined her at a pretty cool Jamaican restaurant. We didn't eat, but she did share some of her jerk chicken with us, and it was super spicy! (For my weak taste buds at least)

Finally, we went back and she did both Alexa's and my nails. She was super friendly and we chit chatted the whole time about Alise's nail and make up aspirations, as well as my love for clothes, weddings, and cakes. She told me that I should definitely go into fashion, because I was obviously a connoisseur. I loved her the moment she said that! I was wearing the cute Forever 21 pumps I bought for my birthday, along with a peach-ish salmon colored peplum skirt and a light blue, button up, sleeve-less top. It was an adorable outfit and I wish I had taken a picture in it! One guy told me I looked like a flower!

I showed her some of my cakes and now she wants me to make her a fake cake as a display to put in the salon so she can show it off to her customers and get me some business. She was really nice and encouraging to both Alise and I in our non-traditional dream jobs. It would be pretty awesome if I could be a wedding planner/ fashion industry/ bakery owner. She got me dreaming again, which is nice, because other than the bakery thing, no one has ever really encouraged me in any way about the fashion industry or wedding planning, which I think I would enjoy even more than the bakery.

She also did an amazing job on both Alexa and I. It was probably one of the best pedicures I've ever had! I 100% recommend her, so go check her out on her page, especially if you live close to Douglasville! I'll definitely be going back to her whenever I can fit the drive and nails to my budget. She's really affordable too, even without the Groupon!

After our mani/pedis were done, we went back to Alexa's to get ready for Pedro's birthday bash/ end of summer party.

On our way to Pedro's, we got a flat tire (Alise's car, not mine. Thank God. I don't think I could handle two flats less than a month apart). We were pretty scared, because it was night time, we were in party clothes, and definitely not in the best of neighborhoods. Fortunately, a nice man stopped and he had a jack to help us fix the flat. We left him a small tip and went on our way.

Pedro's party was pretty fun. Alexa had to work in the morning, so she and Alise left early, but I ended up staying with Luis, and we had a blast!

Overall, we had a pretty crazy fun weekend. It's a shame that summer's almost over...

Although I can't wait to see what the rest of summer leads to!

Lazy Day to Busy Day

I love lazy days!!

Sunday was most definitely a very lazy day.

Luis had to work all day, so I just chilled in my dorm alllllll day, watching The Bachelorette!

Carlin introduced me to it this past Tuesday, and I watched 3 episode over the week, and finished catching up on all the rest of the episodes yesterday. It drove me absolutely crazy. I thought I would hate it and dismiss it as a corny, fake show, but I'm in love with this corny, fake show! I can't wait to watch last night's episode today!

While watching The Bachelorette, I also took the opportunity to paint my nails a super glittery light purple color, and I munched on soooo many snacks (unhealthy day too!)

And then I started on Masterchef, because I love me some Gordon Ramsey, and all his TV shows! I also loved seasons 2 and 3 (didn't watch 1...), so when I saw that season 4 had already started and was already 14 episodes in, I knew I had to catch up ASAP. (It made me feel really guilty about the snacks. When will I have a real kitchen???)

I also filled out a few job applications and went to sleep super duper extra early, like 9 PM early. It was a good day to relax after the craziness of Cow Appreciation Day!

But then Monday came around.

Unlike most of the general population, I do not hate Mondays. I actually like starting the week and getting things done. As much as I love weekends and wish they could be slightly longer, I see no reason to hate on poor Monday just because it comes first.

Anyways, it was a busy morning. I woke up extra early, picked up Karima, and headed to Chick-fil-A for breakfast. I used our printer their to print off a few things for Karima's baby shower. I actually can't wait to post about that!! We then had breakfast with Jessica, since she was working.

Finally, we drove up to Ulta because apparently they were having a sale that Karima absolutely had to catch. We got there at almost 9, but they didn't open until 10. So we just chilled outside at Whole Foods filling out applications and taking selfies.

Finally, Ulta opened and we went inside. Karima bought some face wipe things and almost bought gel eye liner, and I got a $2 foot scrubber thing. I have no idea what those rocks are called... But it was a little set and cheap and since I've started on a "do my own nails" mission, I figured it was a good, cheap investment.

Then we left and went back to Cumberland Mall. A little background: we went on Saturday cause Karima was dying to buy a sundress she had seen there on sale. I ended up doing some in store job hunting, and this guy at Teavana fell in love with me pretty much. When I asked if they were hiring his eyes got big and round and he started talking about how they need great people persons and good customer service skills (I actually didn't go in there to apply, but we got comfortable chatting over different types of tea so I figured why not?). So he made me come back yesterday with an application.

My fruits of the day? An interview with Teavana on Wednesday, with only one more after that. A phone interview with New York and Company on Thursday (I'm really hoping that this one is the winner... I love NYC!!!), the lady loved the fact that I'm bilingual (ahem, multilingual thank you very much) and told me that they were looking to hire a Spanish speaker (why are my Portuguese and French always ignored???) and was really excited about me (YAY!!!).

I also dropped off a few other applications and resumes. Charming Charlie told me that they were going to start doing interviews soon, and that they always pulled the ones with resumes first. Victoria's Secret just politely took my application and told me that they would give it to the hiring manager (This would be my 2nd choice, but they asked the least questions *tears*). Forever 21 totally gave me the third degree asking about how I would balance school, Chick-fil-A, and them. Like excuse me? I wouldn't be applying if I thought I wasn't capable. I've juggled 3 jobs and school before, so chill. They were one of my top choices, but I'm not so sure now, with that awful attitude the manager had (Still, an employee discount there would be sweet!).

H&M totally turned me down though. They told me to come back mid-August and try again. I also considered Wet Seal and Charlotte Russe, but I didn't really want to work at either one. The employee discounts there didn't really draw me in. I haven't been a fan of Aeropostale or American Eagle since middle school, other than for jeans. So that's all I applied to.

Then it was work time. I had an hour long meeting with Liz about my leadership journey, which went pretty well I thought. After that, it was just work as usual, only extra slow because everyone decided that they didn't want chicken yesterday. Like we were really, really, extra, super slow. Crazy slow. It was painful. I got to learn lots of shift leader stuff, so that was fun, sorta. It was a great time to really connect with customers and keep the store spotless.

Happy Cow Appreciation Day!!!

So today was Cow Appreciation Day!!!

It's an annual, national holiday in which all Chick-fil-As across the country serve deliciously yummy food for free to anyone who shows up dressed as a cow!

Of course, as a Chick-fil-A team leader, I ended up working all day. And by all day, I mean 5:15AM-8:30PM. It was a brutal day.

However long and ridiculously, outrageously busy the day was, I can't deny that we had a ton of fun!

Jessica and I even did our nails, cow style, just for the occasion!

And we had the Chick-fil-A cow out all day long. He played with countless kids and waved at an innumerable amount of cars. It was pretty awesome!!

I got to help blow up all those balloons while someone else made the arc, and at the end of the day, I got to help pop them all!

It was a really long and stressful day, and my feet hurt like crazy, but it was also a ridiculously fun day with lots of oohing and ahhing over the little kids' costumes, and laughing at the crazy adults that went super all out!

Shopping With The Ladies

Jessica, Karima and I went shopping... Again!

We actually just went to the mall with the intentions of getting our nails done, but as you should know by now, one thing led to another and money got spent.

Our first stop was Charming Charlie's because they just opened at Cumberland a month ago and we hadn't been yet! And there's a Michael Kors opening up soon too. Exciting!

I went craziest here because they were having a buy one get one FREE sale! Look at all the goodies I got without even spending $35!

The wallet was my favorite by far

Look at that adorable bow! (For some reason I couldn't get it to face the right way...) It's blue, my favorite color, and has my beautiful bow on it. Plus it opens up to this:

iPhone case and wallet all in one!!! I've been dying for one of these wallet cases, and now I finally have one! It was so cute, I bought it full price!

Then I went crazy on the earrings

They were so cheap, plus buy one get one free, I couldn't help myself when I saw all these adorable bows!

Who cares what else came in the set as long as I now have a bow earring in 3 different colors?

And on this last one, it was the Eiffel Towers that won me over. I'm still not sure what those circles are yet...

And it would be wonderful if my pictures cooperated with me again.

And we found tiaras inside Charming Charlie's! My twitter handle is Princessa Brunna, because princess is in English and princesa is in Portuguese, so I just combined the two to describe who I am. Regardless of how much money I have or my standing in life, I am so definitely a princess, so I had to try on tiaras!

The cuteness is overwhelming! And the tiaras all looked wonderful on me. I really do believe I should have been a princess.

Then Wet Seal was having a 50% off sale, so I got this adorable blazer!

It's too casual to wear legitimately with a business outfit, but it'll add a classy flair to any outfit I put together. Not to mention that while I have probably half a dozen black blazers, I don't own a white one. Finally!

Then we hit up H&M because they were having a $4 Fourth of July sale. Here's a screen shot of the Snapchat Jessica sent me of me trying to poke out my stomach to look pregnant like Karima (she's having a baby girl!!!)

We did end up visiting the nail salon and getting our mani-pedis. I hadn't had one since my 18th birthday! It was long overdue!

I fell in love with the super girly, and as Karima put it, princess-y, nail polish and glitter look. Unfortunately, my nails are disgusting from spending so long without being done and working so hard in restaurants and fast food, so even done, they look stubby and gross. But this is it. I'm determined to start taking better care of nails again. I used to go to the nail salon every 3 weeks before I moved out. I won't splurge like that anymore, but I can do small nail maintenance at home and only go every other month or something like that. We'll see.

On the way home, we blasted the radio loud and I was jamming and driving at the same time, while Jessica and Karima laughed their heads off at other peoples' expressions. How can you not enjoy a night with a sunset like this??

Overall, it was an amazing day spent with my girls, and the day ended on a good note.

Organized, Yet Messy

I am very OCD about most things.

My drawer at work must always be organized, with all the bills facing the same way. My earring holder is perfect for me, because the design separates it into thirds, so one third is for my studs, one third for dangling earrings, and one third for pins, earrings I have lost the pair for, and seasonal earrings that I only wear during specific times of year. The top of my drawer is organized into sections with nail polish in one corner, organized by darker colors to lighter colors, perfumes under that, organized by brand and size, with lotions under that organized by size, and makeup beside it, organized by type of make up, color, and size. I also have a wardrobe that it organized by type of clothes, color, and how often I wear it. So party dresses on the top, with normal dresses next to it, with long shirts next to that, with long-sleeved shirts next to that, and jackets on the end. And on the bottom row I have blouses, which are organized by the length of the sleeve, from no sleeve to half sleeve (long sleeves are up top remember), then t-shirts, which I don't really wear t-shirts so the ones I have are all event related with memories attached to them, so those are organized by time of event. Don't even get me started on how the files on my computer are organized. Let's just say that anyone that got my computer would have no problem pinpointing exactly what they wanted to find. I could keep going and describe my shoes, books, and desk as well, but I'll spare you the details.

The moral of that story is that I am SUPER organized, except for at certain moments. And those certain moments are in the mornings when I'm getting ready. This gives me an infamy for being messy. Because I'll have a super clean room that will have a dozen different articles of clothing on the floor by the time I'm done getting ready. Now, I do go back and re-organize everything afterwards, but sometimes I'm in a rush and it stays behind, thus the messy label. But everything goes back into place soon, or else I can't function in the mess.

I pick one thing I want to wear (in this case it was the skirt) and all of a sudden, several blouses, jackets, shoes, jewelry, etc are thrown all over the place, as I work diligently to find the one that will create the cutest outfit. (Ignore all the open tabs, that is just another part of my messiness) It's just so difficult. All the endless possibilities are overwhelming, and I have to find the perfect outfit, or else I can't walk out the door/hit publish. It's just a perfectionist problem I have.

Lazy Day

Yesterday was an interesting change of pace for me.

I spent ALL day in my dorm. I don't remember the last time I had an entire day with nothing to do and no need to leave my room.

So what does super busy bee me do on a rare day off?

Well, I started off by sleeping in until 11 30. That was a lovely refreshment from the constant waking up before my alarm clock went off of this past weekend.

I would love an alarm clock with Belle on it!

Then I just web surfed for a really long time.
I blogged

And pinned

And made outfits on Polyvore

And discovered new wedding blogs

And Facebooked

And Twittered

Then I decided to brave Hulu again (I really really really dislike Hulu. It's so slow compared to Netflix, and I need to watch dumb ads.) to watch the newest season of Once Upon A Time... I really like the show, or else I would never waste 6 hours trying to watch three 45 minute episodes.

And since Hulu takes forever to load, I decided to tackle my room during loading periods. So now my room is super clean!

I made my bed

I put my shoes up

And I organized my closet

And I vacuumed

That's my empty laundry bag in the upper left. Talk about productive!

And I even updated my calender!

Then after tackling my room, I decided to tackle myself. I took a super long and delicious shower. You know those that you just stand there and let the water wash you away? If my dorm bathroom had a bathtub, it would have been a bath salt/bubble bath kind of day. But unfortunately, it's just a shower, no bubble bath capabilities. And after that long, lovely HOT sauna like shower, I straightened my hair. Mind you, my hair take an hour minimum to straighten. I spent a good two hours on it yesterday (while still attempting to watch Once Upon A Time as it slowly buffered)

Then I decided to paint my nails.

And I web-surfed some more.

And I started playing a new Wii Game that I bought a few weeks back.

Finally, Luis calls at 10PM (At night! It took all day!!!) and he's waiting outside with my car! I haven't seen Lulu yet, but he said that both bumper and mirror are looking better, which is good. I'll put up some pictures of her later, once I see her. She sure did take a good chunk of my bank account. Actually, she took up everything I had saved up for my birthday, with the exception of $14... The struggle is real here folks.

Anyways, now I have a clean room to enjoy, lots of new pins and wedding knowledge, my hair looks fabulous, and my nails look decent, not to mention I've caught up some more on sleep and Once Upon A Time.

Now my life can go back on it's crazy track.
