Lazy Day

Yesterday was an interesting change of pace for me.

I spent ALL day in my dorm. I don't remember the last time I had an entire day with nothing to do and no need to leave my room.

So what does super busy bee me do on a rare day off?

Well, I started off by sleeping in until 11 30. That was a lovely refreshment from the constant waking up before my alarm clock went off of this past weekend.

I would love an alarm clock with Belle on it!

Then I just web surfed for a really long time.
I blogged

And pinned

And made outfits on Polyvore

And discovered new wedding blogs

And Facebooked

And Twittered

Then I decided to brave Hulu again (I really really really dislike Hulu. It's so slow compared to Netflix, and I need to watch dumb ads.) to watch the newest season of Once Upon A Time... I really like the show, or else I would never waste 6 hours trying to watch three 45 minute episodes.

And since Hulu takes forever to load, I decided to tackle my room during loading periods. So now my room is super clean!

I made my bed

I put my shoes up

And I organized my closet

And I vacuumed

That's my empty laundry bag in the upper left. Talk about productive!

And I even updated my calender!

Then after tackling my room, I decided to tackle myself. I took a super long and delicious shower. You know those that you just stand there and let the water wash you away? If my dorm bathroom had a bathtub, it would have been a bath salt/bubble bath kind of day. But unfortunately, it's just a shower, no bubble bath capabilities. And after that long, lovely HOT sauna like shower, I straightened my hair. Mind you, my hair take an hour minimum to straighten. I spent a good two hours on it yesterday (while still attempting to watch Once Upon A Time as it slowly buffered)

This picture was taken today. Part of the lazy day included staying in my PJs all day long
Then I decided to paint my nails.

And I web-surfed some more.

And I started playing a new Wii Game that I bought a few weeks back.

Finally, Luis calls at 10PM (At night! It took all day!!!) and he's waiting outside with my car! I haven't seen Lulu yet, but he said that both bumper and mirror are looking better, which is good. I'll put up some pictures of her later, once I see her. She sure did take a good chunk of my bank account. Actually, she took up everything I had saved up for my birthday, with the exception of $14... The struggle is real here folks.

Anyways, now I have a clean room to enjoy, lots of new pins and wedding knowledge, my hair looks fabulous, and my nails look decent, not to mention I've caught up some more on sleep and Once Upon A Time.

Now my life can go back on it's crazy track.

Business Major Wardrobe Problems

The biggest wardrobe problem with being a business major is... Too many cute clothes to pick from!!!

I have a friend who teases me by saying that the only reason I'm a business/law major is because I like wearing professional clothes. She's partially right. I couldn't do a job where I can't wear cute clothes. So no uniforms for me!

Anyways, of course my obsession with adorable professional outfits just leads to Pinterest boards dedicated to my office wear and my classy outfits. Along with a TON of Polyvore fun. (Yes, this is another Polyvore post) So here are some of the business outfits I've created recently (If only I had the money to buy them...)

I am so obsessing over this outfit. It's perfect. If I could, I would wear it to work EVERY day! That is, if I worked in an office already, and could wear cute clothes instead of my icky, black, shapeless uniform. And I wouldn't really wear anything everyday. I don't even repeat the same outfit in the same month. It's probably an every other month kinda thing for me actually. I like to stay original with my outfits. But I could totally do like 10 different colors of this exact same outfit, the top/skirt/belt ensemble anyways. And just to point out my too-expensive taste, here's a fun fact. Those bow earrings are Kate Spade and they cost $50. What? $50 for a pair of studs??? I think $10 for a set of 6 is a lot! I need to start making more money very soon to keep up with this expensive taste of mine!

And of course, after complaining about expensive stuff, I pick out another pair of Louboutins. My wardrobe struggle is real guys, talk about first world problems. I think the cheapest thing on this outfit is the hair pins, and those are $12.50 I think. On the other hand, I'm totally liking the fact that I was able to find hair pins, studs, necklace, AND bracelet with the little flower mold! I wasn't exactly digging the bracelet, but it just went so well with the theme of the outfit, I couldn't help myself. Too cute.

Speaking of struggles, I went through a good 50 pages worth of blazers trying to find one that matched those pants. I got tired of looking, realized that this was a battle that I was going to lose, and went with navy instead. Oh well, you can't win them all. Although I just noticed that I picked the same pair of shoes for this outfit as I did for the first one... I almost went back to change the shoes, but then I remembered that I also had to try on a lot of shoes for this one too. I almost, ALMOST, picked a pair of flats, but they didn't look good on the picture, so too bad for them. Heels win again. Putting this outfit together was a true struggle for me, but it came out looking great! (Can you tell I like the navy look yet?) I'm also really proud of myself for putting together an outfit with pants instead of a skirt. I need something for the cold seasons too!

Here's one for the spring! I'm not 100 per cent sold on wearing this to the office, just because the blouse is slightly too informal, but I think I could, maybe, pull it off as office wear. Anyways, I picked out two different pairs of shoes for the two possibilities. The cute floral wedges for the day out of the office without the jacket, and the pumps to wear when I gotta go to the office and I'll throw on the jacket for that finished down-to-business look.

And for my final look today

Yes, I did navy again. I was really trying to find something not navy, but then this Michael Kors dress just screamed at me and I had to pick it. I would probably never dare to put a jacket over this dress, so the blazer is there just cause I always pick a jacket, just in case it gets too chilly to handle. This one and the first one are my favorites. It's just so clean and sophisticated and classy, I can't contain my excitement for this outfit. If only it were mine...

I could spend all day long making outfits on Polyvore! Especially cute business-y ones. I'm going to be the most fashionable gal out in the professional world!

Wedding Planner

So I have this secret desire to be a wedding planner, just like J-Lo!

I think I'm pretty qualified, I mean I do have six Pinterest boards dedicated completely to everything from my Bachelorette party, to my dress, to all the things I need to do to prepare, to the pictures I'm going to take with my hubby, to the big day and more.

I would have so much fun doing this. All the dresses and cakes and songs and tuxes and venues and flowers and veils and party favors and guests and dancing and true love and and and and and wedding party FUN! It would be a dream come true (:

Not to mention that I'm absolutely obsessed with MY wedding (have I mentioned that I have SIX Pinterest Boards dedicated to my future wedding? See here and here and here and here and here and here). I'm a Pinterest-aholic, it's true.

It's not even like I'm completely experience-less. I have run Brunna's Bakery for the past 4 years (although it is in a short intermission until I move somewhere with a kitchen). I already know about listening to the customer to see their vision and recreating it. I've even done all the desserts for parties before and helped decorate for a wedding. I have TWO wedding cakes to my repertoire. I've already got a foot in the door.

So now my goal is to find a wedding planner who will take me on as an intern so I can get some experience. I've searched and searched and googled as much as I could. There are no courses to take to be a wedding planner, it's just something that you gotta be good at and that's that. So I have to find a good wedding planning, or even just an event planning in general, company, convince them to take me on as an intern (hopefully a paid one), eventually branch off into my own company, and become J-Lo. It's a flawless plan, truly.

Now to find a wedding planner willing to take me on. Anybody know a good one?

The Delightfulness of New Blogs

Hi, my name is Brunna Caroline D, and I am a procrastinator.

That's Step One to recovery right? Yea, well I've been admitting that I'm a procrastinator for a long time, but still no improvement shown. Such a shame.

Anyways, procrastinating is kinda my MO. I wait until the last possible minute, do the work really rushed, somehow still do a pretty good job, and get a better grade than the kid next to me who worked for the grade weeks before hand. So you could say that I just lack the motivation. And I am now reverting to my extremely unhealthy ways of procrastinating. On Monday I woke up at 8am and wrote a nine page paper by 1 45 with a few breaks in between, so I figure I'll be okay writing this five page tonight.

Anywho, getting to the point. I just discovered this website on Pinterest yesterday, and I'm just obsessing over it. She has the cutest things on it! Plus some good study tips here! (Do you see how bad the problem is? I go on Pinterest to find study tips and end up finding a new blog to obsess over) So now I'm sitting in bed brushing my hair and pouring over her thoughts and experiences (not to mention cute clothes pictures, she's a J. Crew fan too <3)

I'm loving her spring cleaning checklist and I am totally going to go over it and do this on my next day off. Lord knows that my life needs a makeover. Clean EVERYTHING and organize like a crazy person. And I just had a shopping spree month and went to the mall with a friend almost every week, so I have a TON of shopaholic clothes/bags/accessories/make up/etc lying around in my room that I haven't found a place for yet. So it looks like I have a game plan for Friday before going to work and Sunday.

She is also in love with Paris, which makes her 10 times cooler in my book. I'm totally jelly of her that she gets to go to France this summer, but that gives me an incentive to mimic her. Why not set a budget for myself with a savings account for a big trip or splurge? I really need to start controlling my shopaholic tendencies. Having a phone and card makes saving so hard though! In less than a minute I can transfer all my money from my savings account to my checking, and boom, shopping spree. I've been thinking about this for a while now, and I definitely need to come up with a good budget and start allotting money for specific things every month (I will need a small splurging pool of money though. If I see a too cute pair of shoes or dress, I will deviate. #shopaholicproblems)

And she has these great disconnecting tips!

Turning your phone off when you're with your friends
Keeping your phone in another room while working
Committing to a specific time every night to spend an hour away from all screens
Turning off push notifications
Collecting phones as a group when out to dinner and turning them all off

I am totally guilty of being a 100% connected person. I am ALWAYS on my iPhone. Like, always. The only time I'm ever not on my phone is when I'm working (because cell phones are strictly forbidden at Chick-fil-A) and when I'm asleep. And even when I'm asleep, my phone is literally right next to my pillow, so if anyone texts, calls, e-mails, etc, I can wake up and answer it (most times I just ignore it and keep sleeping though). I want to try disconnecting, but it's so hard ): My boyfriend hates it. I'm always on my phone and that pulls me away from the people around me, making me give them a lot less attention. So maybe these tips will help me out on this quest. (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Snapchat, Email, texts, and my word games can wait... can't they?)

And then she works for some company called Levo League and they have these 'career mentors' and 'career experts' that do Office Hours, which apparently are really cool and motivational/inspirational 30 minute session webinars about all kinds of great stuff for people like me who like personal growth/leadership/mentor/ things.

It's great. I'm going to spend the next few days bingeing on this blog and the webinars instead of doing whatever else I have to do (:
